Parking Warden Job at Hutt City Council in New Zealand

Hutt City Council is currently looking for a parking warden to become a part of their team in New Zealand. The main duties of the Parking Warden will include enforcing parking regulations and ensuring that parking laws are adhered to within the Hutt City region. Key Responsibilities of Parking Warden:

  • Enforce parking bylaws and regulations to ensure fair and safe use of parking spaces.
  • Patrol designated parking areas to monitor for violations and issue infringement notices.
  • Respond to parking complaints and enquiries from the public.
  • Report equipment faults and maintenance issues related to parking facilities.
  • Assist with administration and adjudication work as required.
  • Be a visible ambassador for the City Council, supporting local businesses and ensuring access for customers.
  • Maintain a strong customer focus and demonstrate empathy and enthusiasm in all interactions.
  • Demonstrate resilience under pressure and a strong sense of fairness in enforcing parking regulations.
  • Build fitness through outdoor work and contribute to the community by ensuring fair and considerate use of parking spaces.

Eligibility Criteria for Parking Warden:

  • Possession of a full class 1 driver’s license.
  • Ability to work flexible/shift hours, including Tuesday to Saturday.
  • Excellent level of fitness.
  • Experience using device technology is preferr.
  • Previous experience in a similar position is advantageous.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to interact with people effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy and enthusiasm for the role.
  • Resilience and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Completion of full uniform and training provided by the employer.
