Video Producer
Responsibilities
- Create video content concepts and scripts.
- Arrange, plan, and scout video shoots.
- Interview people in English and Japanese.
- Record and edit simple audio and video.
- Examine and comment on video creations.
- From pre-production to post-production, assist with the video production process.
- Make sure that every piece of content complies with company goals and brand requirements.
- Work along with the marketing team, chief marketing officer, and video director.
- Write unique content for Japan Today and translate Japanese to English.
- When necessary, communicate with the client service and sales departments.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education
Although a degree is not necessary, it is greatly appreciated if you have appropriate training or experience in media, journalism, or video production.
Experience:
It is desirable if you have prior journalistic, content creation, or video production experience. Although a certain number of years is not necessary, a solid portfolio or samples of prior work will be valued.
Skills
- Competency in Japanese at the native level (ILR Level 5).
- omplete competency in professional English (ILR Level 4).
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Strong time-management and organizing skills.
- The capacity to function both alone and together.
- A love of storytelling and innovative thinking.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of the tools and procedures used in video creation.
- Knowledge of social media sites, particularly YouTube.
- Familiarity with contemporary media and content production trends.
- The capacity to translate and understand between English and Japanese.
- Knowledge of the ethics and norms of journalism.
Applicant Location
Candidates must be able to work on-site in Tokyo’s Chiyoda-Ku and currently reside in Japan.
