Driver Filler Job in New Zealand

Elgas is hiring a reliable and physically capable Driver Filler to deliver and fill LPG gas cylinders for homes and businesses in the Silverdale area. This full-time role combines physical activity, customer interaction, and strict adherence to safety standards, making it ideal for those who enjoy hands-on work and being on the move.

Location & Work Type

  • Location: Silverdale, New Zealand
  • Work Type: Full-time
  • Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday: approx. 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • On-call and rostered Saturdays required

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and fill LPG gas cylinders safely at residential and commercial sites
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to queries
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods in compliance with safety regulation
  • Operate handheld devices to manage delivery routes and record transactions
  • Perform routine checks on delivery vehicles and related equipment

Requirements

  • Valid Class 2 Licence with at least 12 months of driving experience
  • Proficient in operating manual transmission vehicles
  • Physically fit to handle and lift heavy LPG cylinders
  • Dangerous Goods licence and LPG experience (preferred, or willing to obtain)
  • Good geographical knowledge of the Silverdale region
  • Comfortable with basic technology and handheld systems
  • Must pass background checks, ACC clearance, medical exam, and drug & alcohol screening
  • Strong team player with a safety-first, customer-focused mindset
