Location & Work Type

  • Due to the nature of freight delivery, the position requires frequent travel across Ontario and possibly other provinces.
  • Drivers should be prepared for flexible scheduling and variable delivery routes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate truck-trailers safely and responsibly to transport goods across designated routes, ensuring prompt and secure deliveries.
  • Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with transportation regulations.
  • Plan and adjust routes as needed based on weather, traffic, and delivery deadlines.
  • Load and unload freight, maintaining safety procedures and preventing cargo damage.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records, including logbooks, delivery documentation, and hours of service in accordance with industry standards.
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently with dispatchers, clients, and team members to facilitate smooth delivery operations.
  • Adhere to environmentally friendly driving practices in support of the company’s commitment to sustainability.

Requirements

  • Valid secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 to less than 3 years of truck driving experience, ideally involving truck-trailers.
  • Possession of a valid commercial driver’s license (Class 1 or A) with a clean driving record.
  • Proficient in English for clear communication and documentation.
  • Familiarity with Ontario’s highway system, traffic laws, and transportation protocols.
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as cargo loading and vehicle inspections.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and environmental best practices.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working independently during long-haul assignments.
