Skilled Civil Labourer

Responsibilities

  • Perform general civil construction and maintenance tasks across job sites.
  • Operate machinery including excavators, rollers, dumpers, and small equipment.
  • Assist with site preparation, trenching, excavation, backfilling, and reinstatement.
  • Read and interpret site plans, locator reports, and construction drawings.
  • Safely expose, identify, and work around new and existing utility services.
  • Remove and reinstate concrete and asphalt on footpaths and driveways.
  • Complete manual handling duties throughout the day.
  • Follow verbal instructions and complete daily job-related paperwork.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized worksite.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Requirements

Education:

No formal education required. On-site training will be provided.

Experience

Minimum 1–2 years of experience working in civil construction, particularly around utility services. Drainage experience is a plus.

Skills

  • Ability to operate small machinery and hand tools.
  • Concrete placement and reinstatement techniques.
  • Understanding of site plans and locator reports.
  • Manual handling and physical endurance.
