Shunt Truck Operator.

Responsibilities

• Safely move trailers to and from loading docks and throughout the site.
• Conduct and log daily pre-trip inspections on equipment.
• Troubleshoot and report any operational or equipment issues.
• Load and unload trailers while ensuring product accuracy and safety.
• Inspect trailers and pallets for cleanliness and readiness.
• Verify orders against Bill of Lading and update inventory records.Use “Wow” inventory system to record movements and updates.
• Work in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks.
• Assist with additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• 1 to 3 years of experience in trucking or trailer shunting.
• Minimum 6 months preferred in food manufacturing, forklift use, or warehouse roles.

Skills

• Valid 1A class driver’s license.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to operate 53ft trailers and perform precision backing.
• Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
• Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in all weather.

Knowledge

• Trailer safety and load securing methods.
• Warehouse shipping and receiving documentation processes.
• Food safety and hygiene practices.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting for transport equipment.
