This position is based at a managed residential property in Toronto, requiring physical presence to perform daily cleaning and maintenance duties essential to resident satisfaction and building upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, hallways, staircases, lobbies, and other communal areas to maintain hygiene and safety standards.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors; clean furniture, metal surfaces, glass, and chrome using designated compounds and equipment.
- Remove and properly dispose of garbage, recycling, and hazardous materials in compliance with building and municipal guidelines.
- Replenish soap, sanitizers, toilet paper, and other hygiene supplies in public and staff washrooms.
- Operate cleaning tools and machines such as floor buffers, power vacuums, and trolleys with care and attention to safety.
- Identify and report facility maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor or property manager.
- Support light groundskeeping tasks including outdoor litter removal, snow shoveling, and salting of entrances during winter months.
- Assist with moving furniture, heavy garbage bins, or deliveries using dollies or powered moving equipment when needed.
Requirements
- Prior experience in janitorial, maintenance, or Heavy-Duty Cleaner roles in Toronto, ideally within a residential or commercial property setting.
- Familiarity with professional cleaning tools, equipment, and safe use of chemical products.
- Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and capable of standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Team player with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of health and safety protocols in building cleaning and maintenance.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and able to pass background checks as required by company policy.
