FLINT is actively seeking a Multi-Skilled Dozer and Grader Operator to join our team in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a full-time, permanent position supporting tailings work at an open-pit mine site. Location & Work Type

  • Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada

  • You’ll be working in a tailings area, contributing directly to critical operations at one of Canada’s largest energy sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate D8+ dozers and 250+ excavators to support tailings and surface prep work
  • Grade and slope surfaces with high precision and efficiency
  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance checks, and safe shutdown/startup of heavy equipment
  • Follow site-specific safety and environmental procedures
  • Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and teammates to coordinate daily tasks
  • Document tasks, hazards, and shift updates as required
  • Maintain a safe work area and report any issues or incidents promptly
  • Work effectively in varying weather and terrain conditions

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2000+ hours of dozer operation experience (D8 or larger)
  • Minimum 6000+ hours of excavator operation experience (250+ class)
  • Experience in open-pit mining environments is a strong asset
  • Must have current CSO (Common Safety Orientation) from Energy Safety Canada
  • Physically fit and capable of performing in a demanding, fast-paced work environment
  • Must be able to provide a clean driver’s abstract with fewer than 9 demerits
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
  • Must be a reliable team player with a commitment to safety and quality work
