  This position is based at Arcare’s Gisborne residence, requiring on-site presence to ensure a clean, safe, and comforting environment for residents and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect resident rooms, bathrooms, dining areas, and common spaces to uphold high hygiene standards.
• Safely dispose of general and clinical waste in line with health regulations and infection control guidelines.
• Follow strict cleaning protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and approved disinfectants.
• Replenish hygiene and cleaning supplies such as soap, hand sanitizer, and tissues to maintain a sanitary environment.
• Operate cleaning equipment like vacuums, floor scrubbers, and trolleys effectively and safely.
• Collaborate with the care team to support resident comfort, cleanliness, and dignity.
• Maintain accurate cleaning records and report any maintenance or hygiene concerns to supervisors.

Requirements

• Previous experience in professional cleaning, preferably within aged care, healthcare, or hospitality (preferred for Cleaner jobs in Gisborne).
• Understanding of or willingness to learn about infection prevention and control procedures.
• Reliable and team-oriented with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness.
• Friendly and respectful communication skills for interacting with residents and coworkers.
• Valid Australian Working Rights and an NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Ability to pass pre-employment checks, including health assessments and background screening.
