A leading software consolidator in Toronto is looking for a Finance Leader to take ownership of financial functions across their portfolio of companies. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting operations across the portfolio of software companies, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness in financial reporting.

  • Ensure all financial activities comply with GAAP standards and internal policies.

  • Provide strategic financial insights to leadership, supporting growth initiatives and operational improvements.

  • Partner with portfolio company leaders to understand their financial performance and identify opportunities for optimization.

  • Support M&A activities, including financial due diligence, integration planning, and post-acquisition financial alignment.

  • Manage financial reporting cycles, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.

  • Drive process improvements across the portfolio, implementing best practices and scalable solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.

 Qualifications and Experience

We’re looking for a seasoned finance professional who combines technical expertise with a strategic mindset and a collaborative approach.

Essential Requirements:

  • CPA designation is required.

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive finance experience, with a strong background in accounting operations and financial reporting.

  • Experience working in or with software companies is highly valued—you understand the metrics and models that drive this space.

  • Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance requirements.

  • Proven ability to provide financial insights that support growth and operational decision-making.

  • Experience with M&A activity, including due diligence and integration, is a strong asset.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear recommendations.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across portfolio companies and teams.

  • A proactive, hands-on approach—you’re comfortable diving into the details while keeping an eye on the big picture.
